Over that past few weeks I have been playing around with some good ole plaster of paris and the results have been awesome! I wanted to make some three dimenstional elements for my spring and summer wood signs! I have a fellow crafting friend, Denise, who is amazingly talented and completely brilliant when it comes to sign making. She gave me the idea of using plaster of paris and wilton candy molds to create awesome 3-D embellishments! After going through the molding process, I hand paint all of my embellishments with my acrylic and chalk paints! After painting and a few hours of dry time, I adhere my embellishments to my signs using some E-6000 adhesive! It is actually a very simple process, it just requires a lot of wait time for the molds to set and the paints to dry! However, once finished, it can add an awesome and creative touch to any project that you might be working on!

You don’t have to stick to candy molds either! You can use a resin mold (usually used for jewelry making), soap molds, etc. The possibilities truly are endless! Here is a beach sign that I made with a seashell mold! As usual, I got almost all of my supplies (with the exception of my paints and a few of the molds) from Michaels!
