Happy almost Fall! I’ve been busy working on new blending techniques with new paints. So I thought I would take some time to write out a mini tutorial for y’all!
First I worked on blending the background. Then I roughly drew in the pumpkins with chalk. I loaded two different colors of orange on my brush, brushed back and forth on the plate to blend the colors on the brush, then painted the pumpkin in the board with the brush full of paint. Keep repeating this process as your brush gets dry.
I then added a little dark brown in places and a little yellow for the highlights. The stem was done with the same double load technique. I used two shades of brown.
I had my hubby drill holes for the jute to hang with. I added a piece of burlap to the jute rope for imbellishment. I used a chalk based paint that I blended to create the background. Acrylics were used to paint the pumpkins.
